Lesson 2.2 – A New Understanding
Most architects, subcontractors, and vendors don’t understand the complexities of practices and products that create healthy homes. Are they wrong? No, like everyone in this industry, we are chasing building codes and energy policies which don’t align with healthy homes that breathe well. This leads to the continued use of unhealthy practices and products. That’s why I’m writing this Blueprint. Many of these groups just need better understanding of building science and healthy home building and they’ll get on board.
In some cases, however, home builders and subcontractors don’t care, and want the fastest, cheapest way regardless of the home they produce. If you sense apathy from the people your vetting, please walk away.
